Nothing New Here

Not a whole lot going on here. Grad school is intense. I am studying for the 1st half of the praxis that I take on the 28th of this month. I am still holding at 205 which is frustrating, but at the same time I have had A LOT of travel over the past 6 wks so for me being able to hold is a new things. I am hopefully to get to 185 by my sisters wedding on the 16th. Not quite the 145 I set forth as my goal almost a year ago, but hey I am still down 22lbs from the start of this blog, and 35 since my 29th bday so I am going to try not to beat myself up about it.

I have 2 races on the books. I am running a 5k on April 21st and hoping to beat the time of the 5k from last month. I really would love to make one in 32 min. But I will be good either way. I am trying to LOVE running...I am not sure I am getting there after almost 3 years of running, and 1 year of die hard dedication to the sport. But I will continue to run because the fact of the mater is, it gets results. I am also running the Run like a Mom race on May 12th. After the my next races will probably not be till the fall given the insane heat here in Charleston. I have plans to run the Rock in Roll half in Va Beach again in September with my friend Amy and fingers crossed my new running friend Teresa, and will be running another half 2 short months later =/ (yes I am on crack now) the rock in roll in Savannah with my baby sister.  My son is really into the running which is super cute. I have been signing him up for the one mile fun runs at the races, and my husband who hates to run and always boast that he runs 3 miles a year (military PFA requirements) has been running with him. He finished his last race in 9:31, have I mentioned he is barley 5? We just got him new running shoes for the race on the 21st and he is psyched. He is working on building his miles for the kids marathon associated with the Rock n Roll in Va Beach =) This next race he can actually place and receive a trophy so I hope it goes well for him. I mainly do it just to keep giving myself incentive to run. LOL

I ran outside twice last week! I felt like I was really moving and had a pretty fast pace, but I have no idea how far I really went or any of that. We were down in Dauphin Island (great vaca place if you ever want to go to a NON crowded beach and just chill somewhere). My in laws live there and although it was not conducive for studying, it was great for running. Its much closer to the beach then where we are in SC. The island has a fantastic bike trail that runs from the East End all the way to the West End, although it was hot, the breezy night time runs were great. I will say that although I hated my run today, I felt a little empowered by the runs on the island and so I kept pushing it out.

I ran a 10k on the mill today. Walked the 1st mile in 15, then ran 2, walked a half, ran 1.5, walked .2, ran the last mile. I felt good. Heart rate got up to the 180's for a bit but for the most part it is starting to pull back. I am still not sure I could carry on a conversation when I run, but I also do not feel like I am gasping or struggling. It felt good. I am staying focused on running 3-4 runs a week NO MORE! But hopefully over the next 10 weeks since there is no more traveling I can get to the gym 6 days a week...=/ we will see. But 3-4 days running, the others cross training.

OK well back to the hubby. Hopefully i will have WEIGHT LOSS to post soon.

Oh right quick...weight may not be down. But over the Month of March I did loss several inches! Since I started tracking mid Jan I am down 2 inches in my thighs, over an inch in my calf's, half an inch in biceps, 2 inches in my butt!!!! 1.5 inches in my stomach, an 1.5 inches in my waist, bust still the same. I have also recently bought several Large size NOT XL, but plain L sundresses, put on several and by several I mean A LOT of sundresses I haven't worn in almost 3 years, and a pair of size 12 capri pants. I am not in any of my own 12's, but I am in all of my 14's and they are getting looser, as well as I wore a smocking hot dress to my sister in laws wedding =)

Night Y'all
Till Later
Britt
